Academics
In an effort to offer a complete education to our bnei Torah, we strive to achieve excellence in Judaic studies and general studies. We also offer a host of electives, a makerspace, a guest speaker series, visiting educators and extracurricular activities.
Judaic Studies
Talmud
Throughout their high school career, each student will learn and hone the necessary skills to master the daf and engage in meaningful and analytical study.
Chumash
Each student will learn Chumash through an anlytical system enabling him to better understand the Chumash and its commentaries
Halachah
The course curriculum will focus on not only covering the daily laws, but will give the students the tools to gain a better understanding of Halachic logic and its application.
Nach
The students will learn Navi not just through the prism of Jewish history, but with understanding its relevance in modern times.
Machshavah/Hashkafah
Through the study of different works each student will be imbued with the knowledge of how to properly best serve Hashem on his level.
Guest Speakers
We will have a broad panel of well respected and recognized guest Rabbi speakers on a wide range of topics throughout the year.
General Studies
History
Students will explore American history, world history and civics. In addition, students will be able to take advantage of advanced opportunities like AP or college classes
Science
From biology to computer science, our science curriculum is broad and engaging. Hands on labs and visiting science experiences will further engage each student. The students will also be given time each week in the makerspace, complete with a 3D printer and robotics. Advanced learning opportunities such as AP or college classes will be offered.
Math
Our individualized learning will be most evident in Math. Each student will be able to progress at his level with opportunities for AP and college level classes where appropriate.
Language Arts
Students will engage with texts from Shakespeare to the present. They will be able to deconstruct them and apply the lessons to their own writing.
Art and Music
Here at YCF, we strongly believe that teenagers need many outlets and learning opportunities that engage both sides of the brain. The students will have art and music to further engage and propel their creativity.
Physical Education
Sports and physical activity are crucial to a student's ability to focus. The students will have both structured and unstructured physical activity throughout the day.
Foreign Language
The students will learn Modern Hebrew to help them further their learning and love of the Land of Israel. They will also have the opportunity to choose another language to study, including Spanish, French, or Chinese.
Workshops
Students will be given additonal educational opportunities in the form of on and off campus workshops and guest speakers with local experts.
Electives
Electives will be offered based on interest and availability and may not each be available every year.
